Mythology, truth and human logical reasoning

Image
After reading Choetsow’s memo on her trip to Lake Rewalsar\Tso Pema 7.23.2018 At UVa Thank you for your short memo on Lake Rewalsar, Tso Pema (in Tibetan). Tso Pema, Guru Rinpoche\Padmasambhava, Mandarava and his father, Vihardhara, the King of Zahor are not only representing the power of the religion and its impacts on the cultures; together, they also have a deep and vast social and political implications.    A mysticism, regardless of the size and its historical implications, maybe, once was a publicly shared real event. A few generations later, the real events become the heart of mysticism. Today, that event needs people's faith or religious power to preserve or staying alive.    It is not hard to see Lake Rewalsar as a testimony of religious mythical power, but it is also can be seen as the evidence of the religious prosecution.    Religion as part of the human living experience in searching the ultimate reality, basically...

Rather pain but not happy with ignorance

Image
A little reflection on the happiness of the ignorance   7/17/2018 b y tt  At Virginia Home  Today, finally, after twenty days of work, I finished something and I am happy!   My friend, a Taiwan based Prof. Sonam Wangyal emailed me a portion of 289 words from Monlam Great Tibetan Diction in the end of April and asked me to translate them into Chinese. I started the project about twenty days ago, but found it is much more c hallenging than I was expected. The project requires me to master the Traditional Chinese characters and a different way to typing on keyboard. Unlike to translate a text, translating dictionary is somewhat boring. I was assigned to translate the words that starts with the Ja ( ཇ ),   the seventh consonant of thirty Tibetan alphabets. The process of the translation is kind of simpler but much more limited in terms of develop a big picture or appreciate the inherent logical connection. The biggest challenge is to ensur...

My day at home quiet and empty

Image
My day at home To someone who is far away Wednesday, 7/12/18 By Tt at home in Virginia The home is empty now. I being filled up with something solid and hard all morning.  My mind becomes a balloon has no string!  I hear the air floating around me freely and peacefully. I can smell the time, it is thick and tasteless… Apparently, I missed something Or rather I received something that is big, new and hard to get rid of!  I confess, It is not easy and it is not fun! Through the window I can see the sunlight is patting the leaves And all trees are so gratified This is perfect, I said to myself… I closed my eyes try to live like the tree blessed by the light. However, in the moment of silence I noticed the creatures with wings, the birds It seems they are trying to break the perfect peace The harmonious life in the wood with their annoying demands. Oh well, you birds! I complained sympathetically… ‘Cover your...

Mom sits under the candle light lost

Image
Mom sits in candlelight Sunday, July, 8 2018 By  TT at home in Virginia "Oh Choetsow my baby! Oh Choetsow my sweetheart!” Sits under the candlelight, Cried out your Mom Yes, I heard the voice from her gloomy eye Yes, I see the words dancing around her intensely You are her light and you are her other-self The whole world knows you are free of guilty Nevertheless, Your departure puts your Mom in the dimness   Your “goodbye” blocked all your Mom’s vision Yes, something happened to her And something that frozen your Mom’s beautiful spirit! Though, exposes to the candlelight She locked herself in the darkness of absent and powerless Thought the flame did one’s utmost to cheer up your Mom Her love of you strikes her with sorrow boiled by the separation Oh dear! Your sweet, wretched, poor mother! Gee! The mothers of the world! Please do let the bird that you hatched with the heart to fly To piecing the sky that covers the world she ...
